Skilled Worker Visa- Canada
Starting from 1st Jan 2015, Canada has given the opportunities to Skilled Workers by launching the Express Entry System to manage the applications for permanent residency. The process of application is quite simpler and applications will be processed at a faster rate. One more feature is that most of the occupations are covered and it is open for all types of working professionals. Professions listed under NOC (National Occupation Classification) O, A & B can apply under the new system. CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada) has announced that there will be no restriction on no. of applications to be accepted.
It is a selection oriented process where applicants will be selected on multiple factors such as Merit, Age, Education, Experience, English Language Ability (IELTS), etc. Once selected, applicants will be informed an ITA (Invitation to apply) for filling the details for Permanent Residency. CIC will process the visa in a maximum of 6 months.
After profile creation, applicants will get selected from a pool of applicants on a merit basis. Applicants having approved job offer from a Canadian Employer or a nomination from any of the provinces under Provincial Nomination Programs will immediately be issued the invitation to apply.
The process for the new program:
Step 1: ECA (Educational Credential Assessment) – Different professions have specific Bodies
Step 2: The applicant’s profile would be created by analyzing the skills and qualifications of the applicant in an online resume.
Step 3: Register in the Canada Job Bank to increase the chances of getting selected by obtaining job offers.
Step 4: Upon selection, the applicant will be issued an invitation to apply in which case the applicant needs to be filled for Permanent Residential details with CIC within 90 days from the issuance.
